Hammered Copper Three-Tier Stand

Three round tiers of hand-hammered copper, graduated from a broad base to a small crown, are carried on a polished brass column with turned collars at each joint. The facets left by the hammer catch the light across every tier, and because each one is worked by hand, no two stands are quite alike. At the top, a brass ring handle lets the stand be lifted and carried to the table, with a small cast brass bird perched inside it. Specified for afternoon tea, dessert buffets and wedding tables, where the stand is set out as a centrepiece. Manufactured by Lotus Metal Works, Pakistan, since 1951.
